It all started when…

My grandmother would drag out her glass water bottle full of Lincoln cents and let me sort through them while she talked with my mother.

I would spend hours searching for key dates (there weren’t any) and trying to put together a complete set (I couldn’t.) I still enjoyed sorting the coins by year and mint mark - creating little contests to see which years were more heavily represented.

Kept me busy for hours!

My grandmother’s penny jar!

Most of my early collecting consisted of inexpensive problem coins bought at my local flea market - young “me” really enjoyed the opportunity to hold a piece of history in my hand - a holed three cent piece that someone could have used as a love token, for example - no matter if the coin was damaged, holed, or corroded.

(It was an eye-opening educational experience when it came time to sell them, however!)

After a brief hiatus during my time in the US Military (because frankly, storing expensive and easy to steal coins on a Navy ship was just asking for problems), I picked up the hobby again in 2006 after a serious car accident. I needed something I could do that was primarily non-physical in nature (unless we’re talking about lifting huge totes full of coins) that could serve as a semi-useful side job.

After years of selling on eBay (with 100% positive feedback and consistent 5-star ratings for over 2,300 transactions), I decided it was time to move my selling elsewhere - and here we are!

Thank you for visiting!
